weight loss running speed

Whats a better weight loss speed on a treadmill?
running 4 miles at 9.5 mph(a break every mile) or running 5 miles at 8 mph(a break every 2 miles)
Neither.
The best pace for weight loss is HIIT (High intensity interval training).
Try something like this:
Warm-up: 5 minutes – Moderate Pace
Intervals:
Sprint (as fast as possible) 1 minute
Walk – 1 minute
(repeat 4 times)
Cool down: 5 minutes
Total workout is under 20 minutes and it will burn more calories than 1 hour of steady state cardio (since intervals cause your metabolism to stay elevated for hours after you are finished)
