My name is Stephanie. I’m 18, 5″4 & 195 lbs. Any ideas on getting a weight-loss sponsor?

I’m 2 and a half weeks into a diet/exercise routine. There are just days I need extra motivation. I just moved to Greece (from America) to be with my mom. Right before I came here my doctor told me my cholesterol was high but if I lost weight I will be fine.

Just give it some time. And watch the Greek food…it’s fattening.

Something else I’d suggest: Get a bicycle. No kidding. In many parts of the world, the bicycle is a common and respectable means of transportation (unlike in Fat America). Being active is vital to weight loss. Dieting alone won’t do nearly enough.

With a bike, you can get healthy while you run errands or explore the area. Plus, it’s more fun than naked twister (ahem…not that I know). At your present size, you may feel a bit slow initially or tire easily with exercise. But you’re so young that you will quickly gain strength and find yourself easily riding several miles each day.
